Catnaps, power snooze or siestas all represent a brief moment in time when we humans take a short rest.
As a former kindergarten teacher, I remember how important the “nap mat” was for the “little people” to re-energize.
According to the latest research from ARCHIVES OF INTERNAL MEDICINE, snoozing each afternoon may fend off the #1 killer of women….heart disease.
It is felt that a siesta’s magic is probably linked to stress relief which raises the immune response. Stress is known to suppress the immune system interfering with healthy living and liked to type 2 diabetes, cancer, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
So take 15 minutes a day at least to revitalize your body, mind and spirit with a catnap! Prrrrrrr.
