On Monday March 12th and Wednesday March 14th 2012, employees and invited guests of Petro Caribe received a unique eight hour interactive workshop as a highlight to Petro Caribe’s health, wellness and safety month.
Dr. Janet Taylor, local doctor of chiropractic and a certified Touch for Health instructor offered the participants the opportunity to learn ten simple, effective, all natural techniques to reduce pain, tension and stress. “The Top Ten Pain Releasers” is an interactive workshop that uses scientifically based techniques, such as muscle testing (applied kinesiology,) that anyone can learn.
The eager groups queried Dr. Taylor with many questions about diet and nutrition, exercise and fitness, stress management and philosophical viewpoints as well. Since Dr. Taylor has been in practice 35 years, she is well versed in all these areas and stays on the cutting edge by receiving 12-14 hours of continuing education each year. As a certified Touch for Health instructor, Dr. Taylor can now award eight hours of continuing education to nurses, massage therapists and acupuncturists for taking the workshop .
Petro Caribe needs to be commended for its dedication to employee improvement, utilizing local professionals with high standard programs and a timely focus on health, safety, and wellness. Each participant receives a certificate of completion for their efforts and it is hoped sick leave will show a decline as employees take better care of their maladies.
