Dr. Janet attends 12-14 hours of license renewal each year in order to keep her license current.  In May of 2010 she attended a Touch for Health class in Chapel Hill North Carolina taught by Larry Green.  Larry and his wife Arlene have been Touch for Health faculty for over 20 years.

Touch for Health is a simple, natural, effective technique using muscle testing, goal balancing and body awareness to find dysfunctions and then correct them using natural reflexes and massage points on the body.  The class was originally launched for lay persons by chiropactor Dr. John Thie.  Much of  the  material is based on Applied Kinesiology founded by Dr. George Goodhardt, Dr. Thie’s chiropractic colleague, and Chinese Oriental Medicine, specifically acupuncture.  Touch for Health is used by many chiropractors,  massage therapists, nurses and many other body workers because it enhances  all disciplines of health care.

Actually,  Dr. Taylor was first introduced to Touch for Health in 1982 when she pursued it for license renewal while practicing in Middlesboro, Kentucky.  She has used the material throughout her 34 years of practice.  However, reveiwing Touch for Health 1 with Larry made her realize how appropriate such information is for the self-responsibility model of health care.  In her enthusiasm she asked Larry if he would be willing to come to Dominica and teach the class!

Once she showed him photos of the lush paradise island of Dominica,  he consented , asking her to sponsor him and take care of organizing the necessary venue, marketing and participation. They set the date for August and proceeded to plan the event which compliments Dominica’s health and wellness theme.
